Is it possible to use my MM app on my android phone to play files via my desktop PC (which also has MM installed) via the server functionality?
My reason for this is to utilise 2 sets of speakers - one in my studio setup, and one outdoors - both of which are connected to the soundcard in my studio, that is connected to my desktop PC. I would like use my android phone to select tracks and also for volume control if possible.
Can only find info regarding sync functionality via server - just wondering if what I'm hoping to do is possible.
Thanks in advance!

No, MMW's Media Server is one way, from it to other devices on the network. MMA doesn't have server functionality (but can cast via Chromecast/DLNA) and play via Bluetooth.

Take a look at this Android app: MMRemote5 https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... .mmremote5. Sounds like this would accomplish what you need, though it is a paid app. I use the version for MediaMonkey 4, and it works well.
The app requires installing a small program on your PC for the app to communicate with. Volume control of the MediaMonkey software is part of the app, but depending on your audio output plug-in, you may have to disable Exclusive mode for the app volume control to work. If you're currently controlling volume with MediaMonkey now, that shouldn't be a issue.
